Meet Troy Conley-Magnusson, a 4 x Guinness World Record Holder who is on a mission to help raise vital funds for children's charity Little Wings with the support of Tribal Warrior.
Australia's Strongest Man is an annual strongman contest consisting of exclusively Australian strength athletes. Having competed in Strongman for over a decade Troy now dedicates himself to helping others by achieving the impossible, he has pulled trucks, trains, a plane and even 16 cars chained together and last year he even rotated the enormous Ferris Wheel at Luna Park by Hand!
This time, he's set to take on the 360 tonne Wirawi, meaning “woman” in Dharug language. Wirawi serves Sydney as the first Indigenous owned and operated ferry in the nation, providing employment opportunities to the local Indigenous community and cultural tours for school children, the public, tourists and corporate organisations.
Tribal Warrior Aboriginal Corporation (Tribal Warrior) has been a central part of the Redfern community for over two decades. Our founders began with maritime training as a way of offering local men the dual opportunity of engaging in culture and finding employment, making Tribal Warrior Australia’s longest continuing Aboriginal owned and operated Maritime Tourism and training businesses providing training, maritime charters and cultural cruises (operating on Sydney Harbour in the Eora nation). The profits from our Maritime and Tourism activities are reinvested into Community Programs that deliver meaningful change for Indigenous people, including restoration of out of home care children to their families, teaching culture, strength and routine to children, supporting the health and wellbeing of young people, reducing recidivism rates and increasing employment.
To help celebrate the ships' 50th Anniversary Troy will be attempting to pull the Wirawi!
