Tribal Warrior Aboriginal Corporation is seeking passionate and community-driven individuals to join our team as Mentors and a Clinical Mentor for our Clean Slate Without Prejudice (CSWP) program. Based in Redfern, CSWP is a nationally recognised initiative that uses culture, routine, and mentoring to support Aboriginal youth and reduce contact with the justice system.
As a CSWP Mentor, you’ll support young people through structured activities including early morning fitness, mentoring sessions, and cultural education. You’ll be a strong role model, guiding participants with integrity, respect, and cultural knowledge.
This is an Identified role, applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Selection Criteria
CR1. Demonstrated experience working with youth in community-based and/or justice-related programs, particularly within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
CR2. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, with a commitment to culturally safe, community-led approaches that empower and strengthen families.
CR3. Proven ability to build respectful, trusting relationships with young people, families, and community stakeholders, grounded in cultural sensitivity and lived experience or community connection (highly valued).
CR4. It is desirable for applicants to hold a minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, or a related field (Diploma or higher desirable).
CR5. Strong I.T proficiency and well-developed case note writing skills, including timely, accurate, and confidential use of client management systems.
CR6. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while also exercising sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to follow management direction within delegation limits.
CR7. High standards of professional conduct, including reliability, appropriate dress, respectful communication, and full engagement during program hours.
CR8. Willingness and capacity to participate in early morning fitness and mentoring sessions at 5:00 AM three days per week (penalty rates apply as per SCHADS Award).
CR9. Demonstrated ability to meet weekly KPIs, manage competing priorities, and maintain strong organisational and time management skills in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
CR10. Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).

Clinical Mentor (Counsellor x 1)

The Clinical Mentor will provide trauma-informed, culturally safe support to participants. You will work alongside the mentoring team to ensure the emotional wellbeing of our young people, delivering therapeutic guidance, debriefs, and community connection. Be part of a team that makes real change, every day.
The Clinical Mentor will be a qualified and experienced counsellor, bringing a trauma-informed, culturally safe approach to supporting the emotional wellbeing of participants and providing guidance to the broader mentoring team.
Clinical Mentor applicants must hold a minimum Certificate IV in Counselling, or a related field (Diploma or higher desirable).
