Maritime Training – East Coast Passage

Ten young Koori men are preparing to sail from Sydney to Cairns learning about Culture and gaining Maritime qualifications on the way.

The East Coast Passage continues the success of twenty years of Tribal Warrior Maritime training which has seen hundreds of young people find employment in the Maritime Industry, including our own tourism business on Sydney Harbour.

On the voyage another twenty young people from Palm Island and Yarrabah will also participate in Maritime Training bringing employment and business opportunities to these communities.

Supporting the East Coast Passage are Babana Aboriginal and People Plus Australia. Together we seek to empower young Indigenous people by reinforcing Cultural connections and providing them with training opportunities and pathways that will see them realise their strengths and embrace their place and potential as leaders.

The East Coast Passage will depart on 16th April and return 29th May.
